Do you ever wake up in the wee morning hours consumed with questions, ideas, or worries about the future?

Do you feel as if you are standing at a crossroads and wonder which path to take?

Do you feel guilty because you know your life is good—you are not unhappy—yet at times you wonder, “Is this all there is?”

Do you have a dream that will not go away, an inkling you cannot escape?

Do you sense God may be calling you into something different?

If you answered YES to any of those questions, perhaps working with a life coach who specializes in meaningful life transitions may be a good ‘next step’ for you!

  • Life coaching is a process of personal discovery. Coaching helps the person being coached explore and unlock potential.

  • Life coaching does not seek to fix what is ‘wrong’ but helps determine how to step into what is ‘right.’

  • Coaching differs from counseling, consulting, or mentoring. The person being coached sets the direction of each session and determines his or her desired action steps.

  • Coaching sessions are usually conducted over the phone so regional distance is never a problem. The person being coached initiates the call, or if preferred, video conferencing. In-person sessions are also available.

  • My professional background in government, including 15 years as a Certified Employee Assistance Professional, has uniquely equipped me to understand workplace dynamics of managers, supervisors, and line employees. As a longtime volunteer in church ministries as well as serving on a church staff, I appreciate tension and questions which may exist between balancing secular goals and sacred dreams.

  • A no-charge 30-minute introductory session is offered.

  • If transitions coaching seems right for you, a minimum four-session pre-paid commitment is expected.

Are you recognizing some of that same ‘divine discontentment’ I felt? If so, perhaps you will find clarity you have been seeking through meaningful life transition coaching.

My Story…

I began working with a life coach during a season of transition. After retiring from a long government career, I relished freedom from the tyranny of a demanding job and daily 80-mile roundtrip commute. I enjoyed nurturing desires placed on hold because of my demanding schedule as well as participating in activities not allowed when working.

As nice as the change, however, I felt a stirring within—a feeling with which I had become familiar over the years and had given the name ‘divine discontentment.’ The dissatisfaction, I knew, was not negative. The restlessness at the core of my being was intended to alert me change was on the horizon and assured me a good God was nudging me to explore a new direction.

Following my first life coaching session, I told my husband, “That’s what I want to do for the rest of my life.” Obviously, the session had resonated! Little by little, over the course of two years, while continuing work with my coach, I took necessary steps to accomplish the rigorous work required to become certified with the International Coach Federation (ICF).

Life coaching encompasses many specialties: business, wellness, relationship, group, weight-loss, organization, ministry, etc., etc. Individuals, over the course of their lifetime, may work with a variety of specialty coaches.

I call the coaching niche in which I specialize, Meaningful Life Transition Coaching. Together, we explore a fully integrated, meaning-filled life, focusing always on individual strengthscore values, and at times, calling. I honor the spiritual connection many people wish to explore during seasons of change and transition and respect their choice to not investigate that area.

Certified with ICF in 2018, I am now working with a mentor coach and have completed continuing education requirements for recertification in 2021. In addition, I am enrolled in a program that will lead to certification as a spiritual director to incorporate aspects of faith and spiritual formation into coaching for those desiring that exploration.
