Basking in the Beauty of Creation….
My husband and I spent six restorative days along the Washington/Oregon coast last week. The weather was moody, and each day was filled with special beauty as well as challenge.
Despite the unpredictable and at times difficult weather, I returned home rested and replenished. Spending time along the sea is always good for my soul!
Each day except one when the weather was completely uncooperative, I exceeded my Fitbit steps goal. During long walks on the beach, my thoughts often turned toward God and the Genesis 1 account of creation. I hope you’ll enjoy these photos from our vacation and excerpts from the first book of the Bible (New Living Translation).
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth…
Then God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. And God saw that the light was good….
Then he separated the light from the darkness. God called the light “day” and the darkness “night.”
Then God said, “Let there be a space between the waters, to separate the waters of the heavens from the waters of the earth.” And that is what happened…
Then God said, “Let the waters beneath the sky flow together into one place, so dry ground may appear.” And that is what happened….
Then God said, “Let the waters swarm with fish and other life.
“Let the skies be filled with birds of every kind.”
I pray we’ll see God’s goodness in the beauty of creation all around us…
