Lifting My Eyes to the Mountains…
Much of my devotional reading comes from Psalms. This lovely book is one of sacred songs or poems used in the worship of God.
Many of the psalms were written by David, a man of passionate highs and lows. A wide gamut of emotions is expressed in David’s writings. A lowly shepherd boy who eventually became Israel’s king, David was in many ways flawed. Yet, his repentance was heartfelt, and his absolute adoration of God was fervent.
During our recent brief getaway to Western Washington, I thought often about declarations from Psalms as we traveled home to Coeur d’Alene via HWY 2 through the Cascade Mountains.
I was awed by the jagged mountain peaks, sporting snowy white caps, glistening in the cloudless cerulean sky.
I hope today’s pictures, all taken by my husband, Ron, will help you step into awe and wonder for the God of Creation!
Show me your ways, LORD, teach me your paths. Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long. (Psalm 25:4, a prayer of David, has often been my personal prayer.)
