Springtime is Coming…
While there may be nothing more beautiful than a pristine blanket of thick white snow covering the ground, I am not a lover of winter. It’s my least favorite season, and I need to be very intentional about finding beauty in its short, chilly days.
From mid-January until the Vernal Equinox (this year March 20th), I await longingly the transition of winter to springtime.
One of the first signs alerting me spring is on its way is on a sunshiny winter day when little critters find their way to the treats Ron puts out for them in our backyard. I can hardly stop watching out the kitchen window as little Finches and a few Chickadees (my very favorite) cling to the birdfeeder, or resident squirrels chomp cobs of dried corn, which Ron wires down so the greedy little guys can’t cart them off.
I haven’t yet spied one of these big fat Canadian robins, but when I do, I’ll become extra excited!
For lo, the winter is past,
The rain [or snow] is over and gone.
The flowers appear on the earth;
The time of singing has come,
And the voice of the turtledove
Is heard in our land.
Song of Solomon 2:11-12 (NKJV)
Blessings to you as you await springtime,
