There is a Season…

Even as our calendars tell us we have entered the new season of Autumn 2020, are you embarking on a new season of life?

King Solomon, reflecting during his later years, wrote words, which we found inscribed on this granite bench located at the University of Idaho Arboretum:

To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven… (Ecclesiastes 3:1)

I find myself in a new season. Perhaps you’re feeling that way as well. My current season is filled with many responsibilities and activities. Some were planned. Others, such as the death of my mother earlier this month, were not.

During this season of grief and transition, I will be taking a break from writing new posts for Listening on the Journey… Instead, I will be sharing some older blogs or posting some of Ron’s photos with brief inspirational thoughts from others far wiser than I or insights about what I am learning personally during this season.

As I focus on responsibilities related to my parents’ estate as well as remaining faithful to commitments previously made, here’s what I know:

Our life journeys transition through various seasons.

The season in which we are now will not last forever.

Valuable new lessons can be learned in every season.

God is good, and God’s purpose for each season is good.

If you’re inclined to pray, please ask God to help my siblings and me as we navigate the next few busy weeks and that God will enable me to transition through my current season with wisdom, grace, and a spirit of giving rather than grasping. Thank you!

Blessings on whatever season you’re transitioning through…

Blessings on your Journey…
