TIME - It Marches On!

Today, we say goodbye to October, which has become my favorite month. I hope you’ll enjoy these random photos and a few reflective comments. Enjoy!

I look up at your macro-skies, dark and enormous,
    your handmade sky-jewelry,
Moon and stars mounted in their settings.
Then I look at my micro-self and wonder,
Why do you bother with us?
Why take a second look our way?

Psalm 8:3-4 MSG

Sometimes, I feel like I “should” accompany Ron on his nighttime astrophotography trips. Then,  I remind myself I would probably whine because it was cold or I’d rather be home in bed, and my complaining would rob my husband of the God-wonder he—like the psalmist David—experiences in the nighttime skies. The photos above and below were taken when Ron traveled to Steptoe Butte on the Palouse one mid-October evening to catch a glimpse of the comet, Tsuchinshan-ATLAS.

October seems like the perfect month to celebrate the gift of little boys.

This favorite grandson picture of Reeve was taken last October.

Our October-born, first great-grandson, Baker Jackson, with his Grandma Angie and Auntie Mackenzie. A bundle of sweetness is wrapped up in those tiny candy corn jammies!

Time moves right along, and tomorrow, we turn the page of our calendars to November, a month emphasizing thanksgiving.

On this final day of October, I am filled with enormous thanksgiving for the gifts of God’s handiwork in each new season and for loving relationships with family and friends. So, continuing onward, with much gratitude, I joyfully transition into November.

Blessings on your journey,
